Game Notes:
• TCU improves to 7-4 in season-openers under head coach Jim Schlossnagle. The Horned Frogs are 7-5 in home openers at Lupton Stadium.
• TCU has shutout Jacksonville in each of the last three games played in the series. The shutout spans 32 1/3 innings dating back to last season.
• Brandon Finnegan set a new career high with 13 strikeouts in the game. His previous high was 12 set against Texas on May 17, 2013.
• Brandon Finnegan has pitched back-to-back season-openers. He has not allowed an earned run in either start.
• Cody Jones tallied three hits in a game for the sixth time in his career. He also tallied his third career multi-steal game.
• Garrett Crain and Connor Castellano each tallied their first career hits.
• With two RBIs in the first inning, Jerrick Suiter tallied his ninth career multiple-RBI contest.
• Kevin Cron also picked up his 14th career multiple-RBI contest.
• Kyle Bacak entered the season with a three-game hitting streak. His base hit in the second extended his hitting streak to four games.
