Team Notes
*TCU won its sixth conference championship, in three different leagues, under head coach Gary Patterson.
*The Horned Frogs won the Big 12 championship in just their third season in the conference.
*The Horned Frogs (11-1, 8-1) have reached the 11-win mark for the eighth time in the last 12 seasons under Patterson.
*TCU improved to 29-3 when taking the field as a top-10 team under Patterson, including a 19-1 mark when in the top 5.
*TCU extended its nation's-best streak to 14 consecutive games with at least one sack and one interception.
*TCU's nation's-best streak is now 14 straight games of scoring at least 30 points.
*TCU collected 722 yards of total offense, marking the fourth-most in school history and the second-highest total this season (785 versus Texas Tech).
*The Horned Frogs totaled 525 yards of offense through the air, marking the second-most passing yards in a game in TCU history.
*TCU held Iowa State to 236 yards of offense, the sixth time this season an opponent had under 300 yards.
*Iowa State's 236 yards marked the second fewest allowed by TCU this year, behind only Samford (143 yards) in the season opener.
*The Horned Frogs improved to 93-3 under Patterson when allowing 17 points or less, including a 7-0 mark in Big 12 games.
*TCU went 7-0 at Amon G. Carter Stadium this season for its fourth undefeated home record in the last seven years.
*Derrick Kindred's 42-yard interception return for a touchdown was TCU's fourth pick six of the season.
*TCU opened the game with a lead of at least 14-0 for the eighth time this season.
*TCU scored for the 279th consecutive game. It's the nation's second-longest current streak and sixth all-time in NCAA history. The Horned Frogs haven't been blanked since Nov. 16, 1991 at Texas (32-0).
*TCU's starting defensive line featured three players from West Monroe (La.) High School in tackle Chucky Hunter and ends Terrell Lathan and James McFarland.
*TCU's team captains were Trevone Boykin, Sam Carter, Joey Hunt and Chucky Hunter.
*TCU wore a purple jersey and white pants with a white helmet.
Individual Notes
*Trevone Boykin's 559 yards of total offense (460 passing, 55 receiving, 44 rushing) was the second-best single-game total in TCU history, trailing only Matt Vogler's 696 versus Houston in 1990.
*Boykin's 55-yard touchdown reception from David Porter was his first-career scoring grab. Boykin had 26 catches last season. It was also Porter's first career pass attempt.
*Boykin's four touchdown passes gave him 30 on the season, breaking Andy Dalton's single-season record of 27 set in 2010. Boykin has thrown four or more touchdowns in three contests this season.
*Boykin's career-high 460 yards passing had him over the 400-yard mark for the third time this season.
*Aaron Green's 3-yard scoring run was his eighth rushing touchdown of the season. He has run for at least one score in each of the last four games and seven of the past eight contests.
*Green rushed for 104 yards, marking his fourth 100-yard performance on the ground this season and third in the last four contests.
*Green added six receptions for 67 yards, including a 54-yard scoring reception for his first touchdown catch of the season and third of his career.
*Josh Doctson had his second straight 100-yard receiving game with a career-high nine receptions for 151 yards. He had seven catches for 115 yards last week at Texas.
*Doctson's 18-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter was his ninth scoring grab of the season and 18th of his career.
*Deante' Gray had his eighth touchdown catch of the season with a 54-yard grab in the third quarter.
*Ja'Juan Story grabbed his second-career touchdown reception and his first in 2014 on a 14-yard toss from Boykin early in the fourth quarter. The touchdown was Story's first since Sept. 27, 2013 against SMU.
*Jaden Oberkrom's 39- and 23-yard field goals gave him 13 straight made attempts, tying Michael Reeder (1995) for the second-longest streak in TCU history. The record is 19 by Chris Manfredini (2005-06).
*Oberkrom's two field goals give him 58 in his career, passing Michael Reeder (57, 1994-97) and moving him into second place in TCU history, behind only the 65 by Nick Browne (2001-03).
*Oberkrom is now 22-of-26 on field-goal attempts this season.
*Derrick Kindred's 42-yard interception return for a touchdown was his third pick of the season and fifth of his career.
*Paul Dawson registered a team-best 13 tackles, marking his ninth double-digit total of the season.
*Chucky Hunter had a career-high 4 1/2 tackles for loss while tying a career-best with 1 1/2 sacks.
*Ranthony Texada posted his first career interception to go along with two pass breakups.
