FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU graduates and All-Big 12 selections Sam Carter, Chucky Hunter and Kevin White will represent the Horned Frogs in postseason All-Star games.
Carter and Hunter will head to the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 17 in St. Petersburg, Fla., while White will play in the Jan. 24 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
Carter, Hunter and White have received their TCU degrees. Carter graduated in May and is playing the 2014 campaign as a graduate student. Hunter earned his degree in just 3 1/2 years.
Carter was an Associated Press first-team All-Big 12 pick this season. Hunter and White were on the second team.
Carter is a three-year starter at strong safety and a three-time All-Big 12 honoree. He was also a finalist this season for the Jim Thorpe Award, recognizing the nation's top defensive back. The New Orleans native is fifth on TCU with 52 tackles.
Carter's 13 interceptions over the last three seasons, including four this year, are the most by any Big 12 player.
Hunter had eight tackles for loss, including 2 1/2 sacks, among his 39 stops. In his final home game as a Horned Frog, he closed the regular season with a career-high 4 1/2 tackles for loss against Iowa State. Hunter is a native of West Monroe, La., and a three-year starter at defensive tackle.
White was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week in the Horned Frogs' win at West Virginia. Going to head-to-head against WVU All-American and Biletnikoff Award finalist Kevin White, TCU's White did not allow a reception over the final three quarters and just three catches for 28 yards in the game.
A Round Rock, Texas, native, White has a team-high 11 pass breakups and two interceptions. The four-year starter at cornerback has four tackles for loss, including a sack, among his 49 stops on the year.
TCU will face Ole Miss on Dec. 31 in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta.
