Dec. 12, 2014 BIG 12 CHAMPIONS!
Congratulations to our student-athletes, head coach Gary Patterson, his staff and everyone with our football program on winning our first Big 12 championship in football! This title is for all of TCU and Fort Worth.

HORNED FROGS AND REBELS IN CHICK-FIL-A PEACH BOWL
We're very excited to play in a New Year's 6 Bowl and head to Atlanta to face No. 9 Ole Miss in the Dec. 31 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at the Georgia Dome. We truly appreciate and thank all of you who have already made ticket purchases. The tickets will be shipped via FedEx around Dec. 18. If you requested a will call pick-up, you may do so beginning on the 18th. Please stop by our ticket office, located near Gate 6 at Amon G. Carter Stadium, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each weekday. We do have a limited number of tickets still available for purchase. Let's turn the ATL into a sea of purple!
FOOTBALL HONOR ROLL
We were proud to sweep the Big 12 Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year Awards with quarterback Trevone Boykin and linebacker Paul Dawson. In all, 17 Horned Frogs received All-Big 12 recognition for their efforts on the gridiron this fall.
Additionally, Paul has received first-team All-America honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation and USA Today. Trevone is a second-team All-American by Walter Camp, USA Today and CBSSports.com.

Gary Patterson is the Chuck Neinas Big 12 Coach of the Year by his conference counterparts. He also earned National Coach of the Year honors from Walter Camp, ESPN (Home Depot) and Scout.com. Gary is just the third coach to be recognized as a two-time recipient by Walter Camp. He has now received 13 National Coach of the Year honors during his distinguished 14-year tenure with the Horned Frogs.

OUR HALL OF FAMER
It was incredibly special to see LaDainian Tomlinson formally inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday night in New York City. We now have 11 Horned Frogs in the Hall of Fame. As you know, LT is a source of pride for TCU and Fort Worth. He always carries himself in a first-class manner and is very appreciative of what his alma mater has provided him. Congrats LT!

BASEBALL SEASON NEARING
Our Big 12 champion baseball program has its 2015 campaign rapidly approaching. Season-ticket renewals are underway. Please note the renewal deadline of Fri., Jan 9. Contact the athletics ticket office at (817) 257-FROG (3764) if you would like to be put on the waiting list for baseball season tickets.

UNDEFEATED
Our men's basketball program remained undefeated at 9-0 after Tuesday night's 80-69 win over Furman. It continued our momentum after back-to-back victories over Ole Miss and Mississippi State. We're also nearing the AP Top 25. Based on number of votes, we're 32nd.

With the excitement and buzz surrounding our men's basketball program, please make note that tickets for our Big 12 games go on sale Monday, Dec. 15, at 8 a.m. You can order online at GoFrogs.com or by calling our athletics ticket office at (817) 257-FROG (3764). The conference opener is Jan. 3 versus West Virginia at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center.

HOLIDAY HOOPS
During the holiday season, we'll be offering $5 discounted tickets to our men's and women's basketball games. On the men's side, tickets can be purchased online and include contests against McNeese State, UTSA, Grambling State, West Virginia and Baylor. With the women playing at the Rec Center, just drop by the ticket office on game day. The discounted rate is good for games against Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston State, UC Irvine, Iowa State and Oklahoma State.

ON THE DOCKET
With dead days now on campus and final exams next week, it's rather quiet on the competition front. We do have a day-night doubleheader of hoops on Saturday. The women will face Prairie View A&M at 2 p.m. in the Rec Center, while the men take on McNeese State at 7 p.m. at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center.

True or false? Football student-athletes participating in a postseason bowl game must complete 6 hours of academic credit regardless of whether the bowl game takes place during the holiday break or during the institution's next regular academic term (e.g., spring semester).
This is true.
To be eligible to compete in a postseason event (e.g., conference tournament, bowl game, National Invitation Tournament, NCAA Championship) that occurs between regular terms (including summer) a student-athlete shall have satisfactorily completed six semester or six quarter hours of academic credit during the preceding regular academic term of full-time enrollment (see Bylaw 14.4.3.1). (Adopted: 4/28/05 effective 8/1/05, Revised: 12/12/06, 1/8/07 effective 8/1/07, 4/26/07 effective 8/1/07, 7/31/14)
