Women's Basketball Takes on Lamar Thursday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's basketball team will play host to Lamar at 7 p.m., on Thursday at the University Recreation Center. As part of the Holiday Hoops promotion, walk up tickets can be purchased for just $5 at the Recreation Center ticket window on Thursday, while the first 250 fans will receive a free color-changing cup.

THE OPPONENT
Lamar enters Thursday's contest having won its last two contests over St. Thomas and Huston-Tillotson to improve to 2-5 overall this season.
The Cardinals are averaging just over 67 points per contest, shooting 39 percent from the field and 29 percent from distance, while winning the rebounding battle by a plus-1.3 margin. Lamar has forced an average of 20.6 turnovers per game with 11.0 steals per contest.
Freshman guard Baileigh O'Dell leads the Cardinals with 12.7 points per contest, while graduate forward Dominique Edwards is also scoring in double figures with 11.4 points to go with 6.1 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES
TCU and Lamar will meet for just the sixth time in the all-time series and the first since Dec. 4, 2012, as the Horned Frogs hold a 3-2 advantage.
TCU claimed the last meeting by a score of 73-59 in Fort Worth and is 3-1 against the Cardinals at home. Chelsea Prince and Natalie Ventress are the only current Horned Frogs to have competed against Lamar, as Prince scored a then-career high 16 points, while Ventress chipped in eight points.
UP NEXT
The Horned Frogs are in the midst of a five-game homestand in the month of December and will follow Thursday's contest with a matchup against Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
TCU will also play host to Sam Houston State (Dec. 21) and UC Irvine (Dec. 30) in December before opening Big 12 play on the road at Texas Tech on Jan. 4.
LAST TIME OUT
TCU played host to No. 5 Texas A&M in its last action on the hardwood, dropping a hard-fought 82-71 decision to the Aggies.
Four Horned Frogs scored in double figures, led by Zahna Medley's 19-point effort. The junior guard was 6-of-15 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line while handing out a team-best five assists.
Senior guard Donielle Breaux tallied 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while fellow senior Chelsea Prince and junior Natalie Ventress each added 10 points. Prince also chipped in seven rebounds and a game-high six steals while going 8-of-8 from the charity stripe.
TCU continued to find success with its defensive pressure, scoring 23 points off of 23 Texas A&M turnovers. Despite the size advantage, the Frogs narrowly lost the rebound battle in a 50-42 margin.
