IRVING, Texas -- The Big 12 has announced TCU cornerback Kevin White and place-kicker Jaden Oberkrom as its Conference Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for their efforts in the Horned Frogs' 31-30 win at West Virginia.
White totaled seven tackles, including two for loss, with a pass breakup. The senior from Round Rock, Texas, went head-to-head against West Virginia wide receiver Kevin White, who is first in the Big 12 in receptions per game and second in receiving yards, and held him without a catch over the final three quarters. WVU's White had just three receptions for 28 yards, all in the first quarter. The seven tackles by White were one shy of a career high.
Oberkrom received the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week award for the second straight game. His 37-yard field goal as time expired gave the Horned Frogs the victory. The field goal was also the 50th of his career, placing him fourth on the Horned Frogs' all-time list. The junior from Arlington, Texas, is 14-of-18 on field goals this season.
