Men's Golf Closes Action at Quail Valley

VERO BEACH, Fla. - The TCU men's golf team rounded out the fall tournament season with a seventh-place showing at the Quail Valley Intercollegiate at Quail Valley Golf Club on Tuesday.
The Horned Frogs carded a 4-over 292 on the final 18 holes, missing their third top-five finish of the season by just two strokes.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett rounded out a career showing with a 1-over 73 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for seventh overall, marking his highest-ever finish. The Keene, N.H., product opened the tournament on Monday with back-to-back rounds of 69.
Senior Andrew Presley picked up where he left off on Monday, carding a 2-over 70 in a round that featured six birdies en route to a 12th-place finish. The round of 70 marked Presley's sixth round of par or better during the fall portion of the season.
Freshman James Hart du Preez followed up Monday's second round of even par with a 1-over 73 on Tuesday's final 18 holes to finish in a tie with senior Julien Brun, who closed play with a 5-over 77.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara rounded out the scoring for the Frogs with a 4-over 76.
TCU will open the 2015 spring portion of its schedule on Feb. 5 at the Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
