TCU Posts Strong Opening Day in Florida

After posting a 2-over 290 on the opening 18 holes, the Horned Frogs caught fire and recorded an 11-under 277 to jump five spots into a tie for third, just three strokes off of the leader, North Florida. TCU's second round was nine strokes lower than the next closest competitors.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett led the charge and enters Tuesday's final round in a tie for fourth at 6-under, just one stroke off of the lead. The Keene, N.H., native racked up nine birdies for back-to-back rounds of 69, tying for the third-lowest round of his career.
Senior Andrew Presley also turned in an impressive performance, bouncing back from a 3-over 75 in the first round to match a career low with a 5-under 67 on the final 18 holes. The Fort Worth native rolled in six birdies in the second round, including four on the front nine.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara also turned in a career round during Monday's final 18 holes, posting a 3-under 69 for his second-lowest round with four birdies against only one miscue.
Senior Julien Brun was consistent through the first two rounds with a 71 and 72, while freshman James Hart du Preez sits at 3-over after rounds of 75 and 72.
