Volleyball Plays Host to Zhejiang

FORT WORTH, Texas - Hosting an international team for the first time on its home court, the TCU volleyball team lost a tough 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-17) exhibition match to defending Chinese national champions Zhejiang on Friday night at the University Recreation Center.
The Horned Frogs were led by Ashley Smith with eight total kills, while the sophomore posted double-digit digs in the match with 10. Mattie Burleson chipped in six kills on the night, while also leading the team with six total blocks.
Alexia Heist was just shy of a double-double and finished with 21 assists on the night and picked up eight digs.
TCU will continue to stay home for the next three matches and will resume Big 12 play by hosting West Virginia on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m., before welcoming Kansas (Nov. 1) and Oklahoma (Nov. 5) at 1 p.m., and 6:30 p.m., respectively.
