
TCU Welcomes Alaska-Fairbanks for Sunday Contest

FORT WORTH - The TCU Rifle team will host Alaska-Fairbanks on Sunday in its second home match of the season.
The Horned Frogs are coming off a 4,712-4,664 defeat at defending national champion West Virginia. Hannah Black led the Horned Frogs with a 593 in air rifle while tying for the team-high with a 578 in smallbore alongside Sally Li and Ariana Grabowski. Mindy Miles also improved from a 588 in her first collegiate match against Army to a 591 in air rifle.
Black has posted a 594 and 593 in her first two air rifle matches to lead the team this season. She also leads Li by one point in aggregate average with a 1,172. Li's 580 smallbore average tops Black by two points. TCU's next two closest aggregate competitors are freshmen in Miles (1,162) and Grabowski (1,159).
Alaska will be in El Paso to take on UTEP Friday and Saturday before heading across the state to Fort Worth.
The Nanooks boast the defending national champion in smallbore in Tim Sherry. He posted a 583 in that discipline to help the squad win its season opener last weekend against Tennessee-Martin. He also shot a match-best 594 in air rifle while Sagen Maddalena added a 592. Soren Butler and Lorelie Stanfield each posted 582s in smallbore.
