ABOUT THE GAME
*No. 12 TCU hosts No. 15 Oklahoma State for the first time as Big 12 rivals on Saturday at 3 p.m.
*The Horned Frogs played in Stillwater their first two seasons in the Big 12. Upon entering the conference in 2012, TCU inherited Texas A&M's league schedule in which the Aggies owed the Cowboys an extra home game.
*Saturday marks TCU's first home game with both teams ranked in the top 15 since 1984, when the No. 12 Horned Frogs hosted No. 10 Texas.
*TCU is playing a third straight top-15 opponent for the first time in its history.
*As TCU's head coach, Gary Patterson is 15-15 against ranked opponents.
*The Horned Frogs have opened with a record of 4-1 or better for the fifth time in the last seven years and seventh time overall in Patterson's 14-season tenure as head coach.
*The game features the all-time winningest coaches at both schools. Patterson has 124 victories at TCU, while Mike Gundy has 82 for Oklahoma State.
*TCU is 28-11 in regular-season games following a loss under Patterson.
*Following two open dates in September, TCU is now in the midst of playing eight consecutive weeks.
*The Horned Frogs are 64-14 under Patterson at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
*TCU is playing its third season in Amon G. Carter Stadium after its $164 million rebuild.
*Oklahoma State holds a 13-9-2 edge in the all-time series with TCU. The first meeting came in 1915 with the Cowboys taking a 13-0 decision in Fort Worth.
*TCU is 5-4-2 versus Oklahoma State in Fort Worth, 3-7 in Stillwater, 1-1 in a pair of meetings (1943, 1946) in Oklahoma City and 0-1 in Dallas (1945 Cotton Bowl).
*TCU's last win in the series was a 13-11 decision in 1992, the last time the teams met in Fort Worth.
*Prior to TCU joining the Big 12, the Horned Frogs and Cowboys had not met since a 27-22 Oklahoma State victory in 1993.
FAMILIAR FACES
*Three members of TCU's coaching staff wore an Oklahoma State uniform during their collegiate playing days.
*TCU co-offensive coordinator and inside receivers coach Doug Meacham was a three-year starter on the Cowboys' offensive line (1985-87).
*Meacham earned All-Big Eight honors and was a team captain and honorable mention All-American as a senior. Meacham blocked for both 1988 Heisman Trophy winner Barry Sanders and two-time Big Eight Player of the Year Thurman Thomas.
*TCU safeties coach Chad Glasgow was a three-year letterman (1991-93) at linebacker for Oklahoma State. He was also a graduate assistant (1994-95) under former head coach Bob Simmons.
*TCU running backs coach Curtis Luper played at Oklahoma State (1984-87) before later returning to Stillwater as a Cowboys' assistant coach (2005-08).
*TCU graduate assistants Ty Linder and Bryson Oliver were OSU GAs the last two seasons.
OKLAHOMA NATIVES
*TCU's only two players from Oklahoma are both in the starting lineup.
*Left guard Jamelle Naff (Del City) has started all five games this season and seven in his career.
*Defensive tackle Davion Pierson (Oklahoma City; Millwood High School) is in his third year as a starter. His 23 career starts rank sixth among current Horned Frogs.
TCU NOTABLES
*TCU's new offense, averaging 510.0 yards per game under co-coordinators Doug Meacham and Sonny Cumbie, is the nation's most improved power five conference unit (+165.2 ypg) from last season.
*Trevone Boykin is second in the Big 12 and seventh nationally in total offense (353.6 ypg). He is one of seven players from a power five conference school leading his team in both passing yards and rushing.
*TCU tops the Big 12 in sacks (3.8) and tackles for loss (8.6) per game as well as third-down defense (27.8 percent).
