FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU swimming team travels to Andrews, Texas, for a matchup with the University of Texas-Permian Basin on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 4 p.m., at Mustang Natatorium.
It will be the first dual meet this season featuring both the men's and women's teams. The diving teams will not compete on Sunday.
The last time the Horned Frogs faced the Falcons in Andrews was in 2012, with the men and women both earning victories, 105-81 and 101-81, respectively.
Head coach Richard Sybesma, a native of Andrews, and the Frogs will also spend Monday morning training at the City of Midland pool, beginning at 10 a.m., a tradition for TCU every other year for the last 10 years.
Two weeks ago, the TCU women's team defeated Tulane, 179-121, in the season opener. The Frogs (1-0) recorded first-place times in 12 events against the Green Wave.
Sisters Lyndsie and Emily Gibson combined for five wins in the meet. The two were members of the 200-yard medley relay with Devin Newton and Julia Sanders, with Emily also teaming with Sanders, Mackenzie Schuler and Mikayla Winkler in the 400-yard relay. In their individual events, junior Lyndsie earned the victory in the 100 and 200-yard back, while freshman Emily took first in the 100-yard fly.
Senior Ali Bleasdell posted wins in the 200-yard IM and 200-yard fly. Junior Mikayla Winkler also recorded two first-place finishes in the 200 and 500-yard free. Junior Sara Brzozowski (1000-yard free), Sanders (50-yard free) and freshman Lindsay Shabet (200-yard breast) rounded out the individual victories for the Frogs.
