Team Notes
*TCU improved to 25-8 in regular-season games following a loss under head coach Gary Patterson.
*TCU has won 12 straight home openers and is now 12-1 overall in Amon G. Carter Stadium debuts under Patterson.
*The Horned Frogs rushed for 169 yards, giving them 48 consecutive victories when running for at least 167 yards.
*The Horned Frogs had three takeaways while not committing a turnover to improve to 49-2 over the last nine seasons when ahead in turnover margin.
*TCU's captains were Sam Carter, James Dunbar, Waymon James and Jon Koontz.
Individual Notes
*Quarterback Trevone Boykin led TCU with 133 passing yards while tying for the team lead with three receptions for 25 yards. He added 35 yards rushing on five carries.
*Boykin completed 9-of-13 passes for 133 yards with touchdown tosses of 27 yards to Josh Doctson and 9 yards to Aaron Green.
*Boykin's first two career receptions came on consecutive plays for 11 yards in the first quarter.
*Doctson's 27-yard third-quarter scoring reception from Boykin marked his first receiving touchdown as a Horned Frog. Playing for Wyoming in 2011, he had a touchdown catch against TCU.
*Deante' Gray was on the receiving end of 36- and 34-yard pass completions for TCU's two-longest plays from scrimmage this season. The 36-yard strike was from Casey Pachall, while the 34-yard connection was via Boykin.
*B.J. Catalon had a team-high 59 yards rushing on 11 carries. His 15-yard second-quarter scoring run was his second straight game with a rushing touchdown. He has two rushing scores this season after having none last year.
*Waymon James opened the game with a 51-yard kickoff return.
*James' 1-yard first-quarter touchdown run was his second rushing score of the season and 14th of his career. He finished with 39 yards on eight carries.
*Brandon Carter's 5-yard third-quarter scoring run was his first career rushing touchdown.
*Boykin, Doctson, Green, Cameron Echols-Luper and Ja'Juan Story had their first receptions as Horned Frogs.
*Ten Horned Frogs combined for TCU's 17 receptions.
*Green's 9-yard fourth-quarter scoring reception was his first touchdown at TCU.
*Redshirt freshman quarterback Tyler Matthews made his TCU debut in the fourth quarter.
*Jason Verrett and Jonathan Anderson tied for team-high honors in tackles with seven. Verrett had a pass breakup, while Anderson forced a fumble.
*Terrell Lathan and Jon Lewis had TCU's two sacks. For Lathan, it was his first career sack.
*Sam Carter recorded his first interception of the season and fifth of his career. It was also the Horned Frogs' first pick of the year.
*Chris Hackett's third-quarter interception was his first of the season and third of his career.
*Jaden Oberkrom's five extra points gave him 50 in a row to start his career. He has moved past Ross Evans (47, 2009-10) into third place for the longest streak of made PATs by a Horned Frog.
*Oberkrom added a 46-yard field goal to make him 3-of-3 on the season.
*Tight end Cliff Murphy made his first career start.
*Echols-Luper, linebacker Sammy Douglas, safety Denzel Johnson, defensive tackle Tevin Lawson and wide receiver Ty Slanina were the lone true freshmen to play today.
