VOTE TCU!
At the start of the day, the below graphic showed us fifth in the College Colors Day Spirit Cup. Since then, we're already moved up to fourth. Every vote counts! Only two days remain to cast your vote in the online contest. Visit CollegeColorsDaySpiritCup.com and vote for TCU today and tomorrow to help us claim the title and the $10,000 in scholarship money. If we reach 8,300 votes by Friday (College Colors Day), we will release the football intro video online in advance of the LSU game. At the start of today, the top 10 looks like this:
Iowa Hawkeyes | Big Ten | 10,361 |
Penn State Nittany Lions | Big Ten | 10,022 |
Clemson Tigers | ACC | 6,796 |
Alabama Crimson Tide | SEC | 5,420 |

PAINTING THE TOWN PURPLE
We hope you've enjoyed seeing our nearly 700 marketing banners, 20 bus benches and 16 bus wraps throughout Fort Worth. My favorite, though, is our new downtown #Ranidaphobia billboard. Ranidaphobia means a Fear of Frogs.
FAVORITE T CONTEST
Thanks for your votes in our recent "Vote For Your Favorite T" contest. Over the past week, we received over 1,500 votes for three shirt designs. The winning shirt features our signature frog eyes from this year's football marketing campaign and is available for purchase online at shop.gofrogs.com. Wear the gear, Fear the Frog!
COWBOYS CLASSIC REMINDERS
As a final remember about Saturday's football game, AT&T Stadium made a recent update to its parking lot schedule. The lots will open at 2 p.m., six hours prior to the 8 p.m. kickoff. Gates for entrance to AT&T Stadium open at 6 p.m. Please be aware of AT&T Stadium and the NFL's new bag policy at the following link: href=" http://www.dallascowboys.com/bags/">Bag Policy. Also, note that the Texas Rangers have a 7 p.m. home game that night. Make sure to arrive early and avoid the traffic headed into the two facilities.
MEET THE FROGS
We very much appreciate everyone who joined us Saturday at Meet The Frogs and hope you enjoyed this year's new set up in the Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility. We had over 4,000 people in attendance. Our football student-athletes and head coach Gary Patterson truly enjoyed the opportunity to visit with you, and we look forward to continuing to grow the event next year.p>
NEW LOOK
Nike is a great partner, and we were truly excited to unveil our new football uniform for Saturday's LSU game. Please click here to see a video of our recent uniform history as well as a photo gallery of our new game-day attire: href=" http://gofrogs.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082313aan.html">Click Here. p>
ON THE DOCKET
Before we face LSU on Saturday in the Cowboys Classic at AT&T Stadium, we'll have another Horned Frogs-Tigers matchup on Friday in Baton Rouge in soccer. We'll then continue on the road Sunday with a 7 p.m. match at Houston Baptist. Volleyball opens its season this weekend in Athens, Ga., with a tournament at the University of Georgia. We'll face Furman on Friday and then Georgia and Lipscomb on Saturday. Cross country will run Friday at the Baylor Twilight Invitational in Waco.
MEET THE STAFF
Donna Biasatti has experienced TCU football like few others. In addition to being the spouse and mother of past Horned Frogs football student-athletes, she's now the administrative assistant to head coach Gary Patterson. Donna is in her 14th year working at TCU. After starting in the financial services office, she served in media relations for five years before making the move to her current role in 2006. Donna's husband, Tony, was a four-year letterman (1974-77) as a placekicker, while son Joey lettered three years (2000-02) as a punter. Donna is from Dallas, where she and Tony were high school sweethearts. They have three sons and four grandchildren.
BIG 12 CORNER
In men's basketball, the Big 12 is the only conference in the nation where every coach has guided a team to the NCAA Tournament, including six coaches who have led teams to the Final Four.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Ryan Christian defined versatility as a tailback and wide receiver during his days as a four-year letterman (2006-09) for our football program. After graduation, Ryan went on to play for the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League. He recorded the longest kickoff return (110 yards) in club history. Last year, he was the American Most Valuable Player for the Italian Super Bowl champion Parma Panthers. Ryan is currently back home in Aledo and involved in worldwide missionary work. He is also a college ministry intern at Christ Chapel Bible Church.
SPANNING THE GLOBE
In this week's edition of the Horned Frogs Nation showing their pride from all points worldwide, we see (left to right) Urbin and Gay McKeever and John and Charlotte Robinson flashing the Horned Frogs sign from Kotor, Montenegro. The McKeevers and Robinsons were on a Mediterranean cruise the first two weeks of July. If you have some great images to share, please send them my way (delconte@tcu.edu).
NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Eddie Murphy, as Billy Ray Valentine in Trading Places, said, "I ain't gonna have no money to buy my son the G.I. Joe with the kung-fu grip!"
This Week's Quote: "That's a lovely accent you have. New Jersey? Austria? Ha, well then. G-day mate! Let's put another shrimp on the barbie." Make sure to check back next week for the answer.
COMPLIANCE CORNER
