How did you choose Equestrian as a sport?
My mom has rode horses her entire life so when I showed interest, I was lucky enough to be thrown into riding.
How long have you been riding horses?
I have been riding for about 15 years.
What is your best memory at a horse show?
My fondest memory is winning the CWD Equitation Challenge at Pebble Beach for the third competition in a row. My mare, Stella, was spectacular at the show and we both clicked that entire week.
Are you horse showing this summer? If so, in what events?
I am lucky enough to show this summer. I have been showing Stella in Equitation and Medals. I've also showed Odysseus in the Hunters.
What are your horse's names? Do they have any funny quirks?
Stella Artois is my Equitation horse and we all tend to make fun of her for being stubborn. She definitely knows how she wants to go around and we have to ask her politely to not hit the jumps. Odysseus is my Hunter, who I have had for a long time and who I have the strongest connection with. Since I've owned him for so long, we both know each other's quirks.
What was your best memory from your freshman year?
My best memory was when our team pulled together to beat No. 1 Georgia in Hunt Seat. I was having a bit of an off day, but we all came together. It was the best feeling knowing everyone was there for each other.
How did you adjust from individual competition to head-to-head?
I felt I took some time to adjust, but it finally came together the second semester. I started to actually ride instead of being nervous every game.
How is the flat phase before college different from the flat phase in NCEA?
The Equitation on the Flat phase is so different. I love flat and I've always had a horse that does well in it, so its always been fun for me. Sometimes I feel like a dressage rider when remembering patterns.
Who is your favorite TCU horse and why?
My favorite TCU horse is definitely Ella. She is my little princess and I love how she carries herself. She always tries so hard in every competition.
