
Rifle Earns Nine All-American Honors

FORT WORTH, Texas - Fresh off their second NCAA National Championship in the last three years, all five members of the TCU rifle team garnered All-American honors. Junior Sarah Scherer was honored as the Most Outstanding Athlete of the championships by the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association.
Scherer and Sarah Beard were honored as first-team All-Americans in air rifle and smallbore. Caitlin Morrissey was a first-team All-American in smallbore and a second-team honoree in air rifle. Mattie Brogdon earned second-team accolades in smallbore and honorable mention status in air rifle. Catherine Green was an honorable mention All-American in air rifle.
Scherer was crowned the NCAA Smallbore champion and finished third individually in air rifle. She is a three-time first-team All-American in both smallbore and air rifle. Beard and Morrissey are also three-time All-American recipients.
Brogdon was honored for the second straight season and Green earned her first career All-American accolade.
The Frogs finished the season 13-0 en route to the title. They have won 31 straight regular season matches dating back to the 2010 season.
