
Scherer Competes At World Cup Final

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU junior rifle team member Sarah Scherer joined nine other elite shooters from around the world to compete in the prestigious World Cup Final this past weekend. She finished sixth in the event that was held in Wroclaw, Poland.
Only the bests were eligible to participate in this competition: the reigning World Champions, the World Cup Final title defenders, and the eight top performers selected throughout this year's four ISSF World Cup Stages in Sydney, Changwon, Fort Benning and Munich. Scherer's gold medal finish in Changwon earned her a spot in the event.
Scherer was in fifth place after the qualification round. She shot a four-round total of 395. She fired one perfect round of 100, two rounds of 99 and a round of 97. Scherer ended up finishing the final in sixth place after firing a 102.0 (9.8, 10.7, 10.3, 10.4, 10.2, 10.0, 10.2, 10.4, 10.5, 9.5) in the finals. For the competition, she shot a combined 497.0. China's YI Siling won the competition with a final total of 502.7.
