Team Notes
*TCU extended its school record home winning streak to 22 games, breaking the Mountain West mark of 21 previously held by Utah (2007-10). The Horned Frogs snapped the Utes' home winning streak with a 47-7 victory in Salt Lake City last season.
*TCU's current streak of 22 straight home wins ranks third nationally behind only Oklahoma (37) and Boise State (32). The Sooners' last home loss was a 17-10 defeat to TCU in 2005.
*TCU scored 28 points in a 2:10 stretch of the second and third quarters.
*TCU won for the 42nd straight time when rushing (248) for more yards than passing (214).
*The Horned Frogs improved to 54-1 in their last 55 games when rushing for at least 167 yards.
*TCU improved to 36-1 in day games and 62-4 in Saturday contests since 2005.
*TCU did not score a touchdown on its opening series of the game for the first time this season.
*The Horned Frogs were scoreless in the opening quarter of a game for the first time since the 2010 Fiesta Bowl versus Boise State. TCU had scored at least 13 points in the first quarter of its last seven contests.
*Three of TCU's four-longest plays from scrimmage this season occurred today.
*With Tank Carder's 26-yard interception return for a touchdown, TCU has returned six of its last 15 picks for a score.
*Today marked TCU's second home game amidst the $143 million renovation of Amon G. Carter Stadium. The renovation will be fully completed in time for the 2012 season.
Individual Notes
*Chuck Hunter started at nose tackle, becoming the first true freshman to start for TCU since Kelly Griffin in 2007.
*Center Eric Tausch made his first collegiate start.
*Waymon James' 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown marked the second straight game that TCU returned a kick for a score. Greg McCoy went 94 yards last week versus Louisiana-Monroe.
*James had a career-best 136 yards on 10 carries, including a career-long 65-yard touchdown run on the opening play of the third quarter. He finished with 218 all-purpose yards.
*James' 65-yard touchdown run was the longest carry by a Horned Frog since Marcus Jackson went 79 yards for a touchdown at SMU in 2008.
*With two field goals and seven extra-points made, Ross Evans had 13 points today to give him the Mountain West career kick scoring record with 338 points. Evans moved past BYU's Mitch Payne (334, 2007-10).
*Evans' 35- and 24-yard field goals give him 47 in his career and move him into a tie with Chris Manfredini (2005-07) for third on TCU's all-time list.
*Skye Dawson had a career-high eight receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns for his first career 100-yard game. Dawson's scoring receptions of 10 and 73 yards also marked his first two career scores. Dawson's previous career-high for receptions in a game was four versus Oregon State last season.
*Dawson had a career-long 42-yard punt return in the second quarter.
*Casey Pachall's 73-yard third-quarter touchdown pass to Dawson was the longest play from scrimmage for TCU this season.
*In addition to the 73-yard scoring strike to Dawson, Pachall had a 66-yard touchdown pass to Josh Boyce. It was the second straight game that Pachall and Boyce connected on a touchdown pass of at least 66 yards. They teamed for a68-yard scoring strike last week versus Louisiana-Monroe.
*Pachall completed 14-of-20 pass attempts for 214 yards and three touchdowns with aninterception.
*With 94 yards receiving on four catches, all in the first half, Boyce went over 1,000 yards in his career. He is now at 1,046. Boyce was six yards shy of his second 100-yard game this season and fourth of his career.
*Matt Brown scored his first collegiate touchdown with a 4-yard fourth-quarter run.
*Tank Carder's 26-yard interception return for a touchdown, on the first play from scrimmage after Pachall's 66-yard scoring pass to Boyce, represented his second career pick for a score. He returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown versus Utah in 2009.
*Carder had TCU's first pick for a touchdown since Colin Jones went 30 yards for a score at UNLV last season.
*Kenny Cain's team-high and career-best 13 tackles were the most by a Horned Frog in a game this season. It was also the most tackles by a Frog since Tejay Johnson totaled 14 stops at BYU in 2009.
*Tekerrein Cuba had nine tackles for the third time in four games this season.
*Stansly Maponga's second-quarter sack gave him a team-high 2 1/2 on the season. He totaled 1 1/2 tackles for loss among six stops. His streak of forcing a fumble in three consecutive games came to an end.
