Frogs Finish Runner Up at The McLaughlin

FARMINGDALE, N.Y.--The TCU men's golf team played 4-under par golf during Saturday's final round at The McLaughlin tournament, finishing one stroke shy of taking home its first team title of the season. Junior Daniel Jennevret led the Horned Frogs on the individual leaderboard in second place.
TCU finished the weekend with an overall score of -11 at Bethpage Red Course. West Florida took the team title at -12. The two teams ran away from the rest of the field, as IUPUI finished in third place at +3 for the tournament.
Jennevret fired a 5-under par 65 to finish the weekend at -9 overall for TCU, two strokes behind West Florida's Carlos Rodriguez (-11), who claimed top medalist honors. Jennevret's Saturday round marked his low 18-hole score as a Frog.
Joining Jennevret among the top-five spots on the individual leaderboard were senior Johan de Beer and freshman Julien Brun, who were among a six-player group tied for third place at -4. De Beer shot a final-round 67, while Brun totaled an even-par 70.
Junior Pontus Gad, who tied for 41st place with an overall total of +8, rounded out the Frogs' Saturday scoring with a 4-over 74. Sophomore Ian Phillips tied for 48th place (+10) after shooting a 76 in his final round.
TCU returns to competition Oct. 10-11, when it travels to Columbus, Ohio, for the Jack Nicklaus Invitational.
