Frogs in the NFL: Week 1

The 2011 NFL season opened last weekend, as eight former Horned Frogs saw action for their respective teams. Included among the group were rookies Andy Dalton, Colin Jones and Jeremy Kerley.
Dalton became the first Frog to start an NFL game at quarterback since Kent Nix on Dec. 17, 1972 against Cincinnati. The Bengals' second-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, Dalton completed 10-of-15 passes for 81 yards and his first NFL touchdown before leaving the game at halftime due to an injured wrist.
Other Frog standouts in Week 1 included LaDainian Tomlinson, who caught six passes for 73 yards during the Jets' 27-24 win over Dallas, and Drew Coleman, who recorded a sack and forced fumble in his first game for his new team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, in a 16-14 win over Tennessee.
