
Weik Signs With Arizona D'Backs

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU senior first baseman Joe Weik signed a free agent deal with the Arizona D'backs this past weekend. The Horned Frogs saw a school-record eight members of the 2011 team get drafted last week.
Weik completed a successful two-year run with the Frogs after transferring in from Weatherford Junior College. He appeared in 90 games and made 85 starts between first base and as the designated hitter. A career .322 hitter, Weik tallied 14 home runs and 17 doubles. He was twice named MWC Player of the Week and was a member of the 2010 Fort Worth All-Regional team.
