
Coats and Tuohimaa are April's Scholar-Athletes

FORT WORTH - TCU's Jason Coats and Katariina Tuohimaa are the Scholar-Athletes of the Month for April, the TCU Athletics Department announced Tuesday.
Coats, a junior on the baseball team, hit .368 during the month of April, including eight doubles and two home runs. The Horned Frogs went 16-4 during the month with series sweeps over Air Force, San Diego State and UNLV.
The Plano, Texas, native added 20 RBIs, was 5-of-7 on stolen base attempts and scored 23 runs. Coats is a business major at TCU.
Tuohimaa racked up a 9-2 record in singles during the month of May, including ending the month on a four-match winning streak. She knocked off ranked players in the Mountain West Player of the Year Anastasia Putilina and Lucia Batta of UNLV.
A product of Helsinki, Finland, Tuohimaa earned her fourth-consecutive All-Mountain West selection in singles and in doubles. Tuohimaa and doubles partner Maria Babanova had a 5-3 record during April.
