TCU Closes Out Regular Season At New Mexico

FORT WORTH, Texas -The TCU Horned Frogs will wrap up the regular season with a three-game series at New Mexico beginning Thursday afternoon at Isotopes Park. TCU has already clinched the MWC regular season crown. All three games will be played at 1 p.m. (CST). Matt Purkewill make his return to the mound on Thursday.TCU NOTABLES
The Horned Frogs locked up their sixth straight regular season crown with a 2-1 win over Utah on Sunday.
TCU closed out its 2011 home schedule with a 6-4 win over Oral Roberts Tuesday.
TCU improved to 22-6 since the start of April.
Joe Weik extended his career-long hit streak to 13 games on Tuesday.
Kyle Starratt earned his first career victory at TCU in Tuesday's win over Oral Roberts.
Nick Frey set career highs in innings pitched (6) and strikeouts (5) on Sunday.
Jerome Pena has hit safely in five straight.
Stefan Crichton tallied his fifth save Tuesday.
Jimmie Pharr hit his second home run of the season on Friday night.
ROAD NOTABLES
The Horned Frogs will close out the regular season on the road for the fifth time since 2004.
The Frogs own an impressive 14-5 record away from Lupton Stadium this season.
Under Coach Schlossnagle, the Horned Frogs have a record of 118-71 on the road.
NEW MEXICO NOTABLES
The Lobos are coming off being swept in a four-game series at Oklahoma this past weekend.
New Mexico is jockeying for position in the conference tournament. They currently sit third with a minisculed 1.0 game lead over sixth placed San Diego State.
Offense has been a challenge for the Lobos, who are hitting just .268 as a team with only 13 home runs.
On the mound, the staff has a 5.73 ERA and is allowing opponents to hit for a .292 average.
Defensively, the have committed 68 errors.
