HORNED FROG FEVER
We thank everyone who renewed their season tickets and parking by our Sunday, May 15, deadline. It's really incredible to think we're approaching 18,000 season tickets sold this early before the opening kickoff. It's already our second-best total ever, surpassed only by our record 19,143 from last year. What's especially rewarding is the number of new season-ticket holders we've acquired this year.
ORDERS STILL BEING TAKEN
Even though we're past our renewal deadline, we still have season tickets available. If you did not renew in time, you can still purchase season tickets. However, you may be in a different location. For season ticket information, please visit our website (www.GoFrogs.com), call (817) 257-FROG (3764) or drop by the athletics ticket office in the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. This year's goal is to sell 25,000 season tickets.
CLUB SEAT DEMAND
Deposits have been received for almost 3,200 club seats. Those individuals making deposits will be ranked through the Horned Frog Priority Points System when it comes to seat allocation.
GIVING BACK
Through the sale of over 6,000 of our football season shirts from the 2010 campaign, we were able to present a check for $13,272 to Directions Home, the homeless initiative established by outgoing Fort Worth Mayor and Horned Frog friend Mike Moncrief. The presentation was made with Mayor Moncrief and his wife, Rosie, at last Friday's home baseball game versus Utah. The following day, we presented a check for over $3,000 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure at our Frogs for the Cure game at Lupton Stadium. The proceeds came from our baseball program's Women's Clinic and t-shirt sales.
ONLINE CHAT
I appreciate everyone who participated in Monday's monthly online chat. That's a lot of fun for me, and it's a great forum to hear your thoughts, concerns and feedback. There were a lot of questions submitted, and I apologize we couldn't get to them all. If you ever want to ask me anything or provide a comment or suggestion, always feel free to email me at delconte@tcu.edu.
ANOTHER TITLE
Congratulations to Jim Schlossnagle and our baseball program on winning its sixth straight Mountain West Conference championship, representing each year we've been in the league. We finished this athletics season with three conference titles. Baseball joins football and women's golf as league champions. Our goal next year is to win a Mountain West Conference championship in every sport.
POSTSEASON RUNS
Our men's golf program begins competition tomorrow at the NCAA Regional in Colorado. It's the 22nd-consecutive postseason appearance for head coach Bill Montigel's squad.
FUN AT THE PRO-AM
Speaking of the links, Gary Patterson and former Horned Frog star J.J. Henry will be teeing off today at 12:20 p.m. in the same group at the Crowne Plaza Invitational's Pro-Am at Colonial. SuperFrog will also be receiving some exposure at the Pro-Am due to a friendly wager between J.J. and Madison, Wis., native Jerry Kelly. As a result of TCU beating Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, Jerry will be wearing SuperFrog's uniform. Today makes me even moreso appreciate our win in Pasadena. We just couldn't have J.J. dressed as Bucky Badger.
APR SUCCESS
Our men's cross country, men's indoor track and field, men's outdoor track and field and men's tennis programs received public recognition awards from the NCAA for their Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores.
SLEEPOVERS
A tip of the cap goes to the record total of 300 overnight campers last Saturday night for our Lupton Stadium sleepover. This has truly become a popular annual tradition for us. Special thanks to our hardworking marketing staff who served as the evening's chaperones.
FUTURE FROGS
There's nothing like growing up on a college campus. If you have kids or know of little ones who enjoy sports, we have a full summer of athletics camps available at TCU. Visit our website for CAMP INFORMATION. Let's start getting our next generation of fans hooked on TCU!
KEEP IN TOUCH
Please let us know if you ever have any questions or concerns regarding our program. This is also your program and we value your feedback. We welcome all calls and emails.
Go Frogs!
