Maxwell Tabbed MWC Pitcher of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU senior pitcher Steven Maxwell has been named MWC Pitcher of the Week. The honor is the first of his career and the fifth of the season for the Horned Frogs.
Maxwell worked all nine innings of Sunday's 6-2 win over New Mexico, allowing just two runs on nine hits. The Woodlands, Texas, native fanned eight hitters without surrendering a walk in his first career complete game. Maxwell never faced more than five batters in any of the nine innings, including striking out the side in the fourth. He improved to 5-0 on the season and lowered his ERA to 3.00.
Kyle Winkler has been honored by the conference on three occasions. He was selected on Feb. 21 for his performance against Kansas, on March 8 for his outing against Texas Tech and April 4 for his 15-strike effort against Air Force. Andrew Mitchell was also honored this season on Feb. 28.
