TCU's Tuohimaa Named MWC Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU senior Katariina Tuohimaa is the Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
On Saturday against Oklahoma, Tuohimaa knocked off Oklahoma's Ana-Maria Constantinescu, the 79th-ranked player in the nation, 6-2, 7-6 (3) at No. 1 singles. It was her second singles win of the spring and first over a ranked opponent.
Earlier in the match, Tuohimaa teamed with doubles partner Federica Denti to take down Constantinescu and Alice Radu, 9-8 (4). The OU duo was ranked No. 62 coming into the match.
It is the third time the Helsinki, Finland, native has been honored by the MWC during her TCU career.
Tuohimaa and the Horned Frogs return to action Saturday against third-ranked Miami at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
