Kristen Hester finished the evening with 12 kills to go along with seven digs and two blocks. Jordan Raines tallied her 15th double-double of the season with 10 kills and 12 digs. Megan Munce dished out 48 assists, served up two aces and totaled nine digs. Igodan added a team-high five blocks, while Holland pitched in with four. Sarah Joeckel paced the team with 22 digs, while Meghan Horio pitched in with 10.
A competitive first set saw 12 ties and seven lead changes before the Frogs were finally able to eke out a 25-23 victory. The Panthers took an 11-10 lead, but the Frogs went on a 5-1 run to open up a three-point lead, 15-12. Holland and Hester were instrumental in the run as they blasted a pair of kills each.
The Panthers responded, fighting back with a 4-0 run to regain a 16-15 lead, but a kill by Hester halted the rally and Raines put the Frogs in front by two, 18-16, with one of her six kills in the set. After the Panthers tied the set at two, Igodan broke the deadlock and Holland finished off the win.
Pittsburgh raced out to a 7-3 lead in the second set and rode the early push to a 25-20 victory as it evened the match at one. TCU recovered from the early deficit to take a 13-12 lead on a kill by Sloane Sunstrum.
A battle ensued and it was Pittsburgh that was eventually able to earn a four-point lead, 21-17. The Frogs fought back to within two, 22-20, on two kills from Holland and a blast from Hester. The rally was to little to late as the Panthers closed out the 25-20 set two win with a 3-0 run.
It was all TCU in the third set as it raced out to a 7-1 lead and never looked back. Munce started the early push with an ace, while Holland and Igodan blasted kills. Five Panther miscues stretched the lead to 12-3.
A 5-0 run by the Frogs put the set out of reach as they were firing on all cylinders. Everyone got in on the fun as Raines, Hester and Sunstrum all racked up kills while Raines and Munce served up aces. Igodan gave the Frogs set point and Hester and Sunstrum teamed on the Frogs' sixth block of the match to lock up the 25-12 set three win.
Holland took over the fourth set as she helped the Frog build an early 10-3 lead. The freshman tallied three kills and a solo block in the early run. Back-to-back kills from Hester put the Frogs firmly in control, leading 12-4.
Pittsburgh climbed back to within four, 18-14, but Hester keyed a 6-2 run that gave the Frogs set point. Munce knocked down a kill, while Hester and Igodan flew high in the middle with a pair of kills. The Panthers fought off two match points, but Igodan locked up the 25-18 victory with her 14th kill of the match.
TCU improves to 24-7 on the season. The Frogs will wrap up regular season play Saturday at 6:30 p.m. against UC Santa Barbara.
