
TCU Sweeps Mountain West's Weekly Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU's Sabine Rasch and Katie Lybbert are the Mountain West Swimmer and Diver of the Week, the league office announced Thursday.
The honor is the first of Lybbert's career and second for Rasch. A week ago, Rasch was named the MW Swimmer of the Week after helping TCU to dual meet wins over Rice on Nov. 4 and Wyoming on Nov. 5.
Rasch picked up two double wins in the 50-free and 100-free over the weekend against Seton Hall and Rutgers. She clocked a 23.58 in the 50-free and a 51.72 in the 100-free. The Luckenwalde, Germany, native is undefeated in sprint events this season.
She also helped TCU to double wins in the 200-free relay (1:35.64) and 400-free relay (3:29.39). The Horned Frogs placed second overall in the 400-medley relay (3:53.24) and third in the 200-medley relay (1:48.56), which Rasch swam the freestyle leg.
This season, Rasch leads the Mountain West in the 50-free with a time of 23.41 and is fourth in the 100-free with a 51.29. She also swam the leadoff leg of TCU's 200-free relay (1:35.35) and 400-free relay (3:27.92) that lead the MW this season. The 2010 MW champion in the 100-free, Rasch holds the TCU records in the 50-free, 100-free and 100-fly.
Lybbert earns the honor after taking first-place overall on the 1-meter springboard against Rutgers and Seton Hall. She scored 251.15 on the 1-meter board. On the 3-meter board, Lybbert placed second overall with a score of 273.80.
For the year, the Argyle, Texas, native holds seasonal bests of 264.60 on the 1-meter board and 297.90 on the 3-meter board. Her 3-meter score is the seventh-best in the conference for the year and No. 3 among all individuals.
