Wyoming completed the comeback with a 15-12 victory in the fifth set. The Cowgirls took an early 8-5 lead, only to see the Frogs storm back to tie the set at eight. Hester dropped in a kill then served up an ace. A Cowgirl miscue got the set evened at eight.
The Cowgirls responded to regain the lead, taking a 12-10 advantage. Again, the Frogs fought back to tie the set on another Cowgirl hitting error. It wasn't to be as Jodi Purdy blasted back-to-back kills to give Wyoming match point and a solo block by Erin Kirby sealed the Cowgirl win.
TCU built a 2-0 match lead, scratching out a 25-23 set one victory and running away with a 25-9 set two win.
In the first, the Frogs took a 3-2 lead on a kill by Raines and never looked back. Munce served up three straight aces to push the lead to 8-6 and Igodan capped the run with a kill to force a Cowgirl timeout.
The Frogs kept pushing and the lead grew to four, 16-12, on a Raines blast. Wyoming closed the gap to one, 23-22, but a kill from Hester gave the Frogs set point. Igodan punctuated the 25-23 win with her fifth kill of the set.
It was all TCU in the second set. A kill from Hester started a 10-2 run that opened up a 12-4 lead. Hester served the Frogs to a 6-3 advantage, helped along by kills from Munce, Raines and Igodan. Munce continued her solid serving and was helped by kills from Raines and Igodan.
Leading 20-7, Sunstrum took the service line and pushed the Frogs to set point. Raines finished off the victory with a cross-court blast.
Wyoming battled hard to get back in the match, stealing a 25-21 set three victory. After Munce tied the set at 15, the Cowgirls called a timeout to regroup. Purdy put the Cowgirls back in front and TCU wouldn't recover as Wyoming pulled with in one set, 2-1.
The fourth set played out similarly to the third. The teams battled to a 12-all tie before Wyoming went on a 4-1 run to take a 16-13 lead. TCU would get back within one, 22-21, on a kill from Holland, but Camille Coffman restored the two-point lead and Reese Plante locked up the 25-21 victory, setting up the fifth set.
TCU falls to 22-6 on the season and wraps up league play with a 9-5 record. The Frogs will begin action in the Mountain West Conference tournament on Friday. The Horned Frogs will be the tournaments third or fourth seed.
