
TCU To Play Wyoming To Open 2011 MW Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's soccer team will open the 2011 Mountain West Women's Soccer Championships against Wyoming Wednesday.
Start time for the match against the Cowgirls is set for 1 p.m. CT at New Mexico's Soccer Complex. TCU, who is the No. 6 seed, closed its regular season with a 7-10-1 overall record, including a 1-5-0 record against conference opponents.
New Mexico claimed its second consecutive regular-season Mountain West women's soccer title after finishing with a 4-0-2 league record. The first-place finish earned the Lobos (10-4-4 overall) the No. 1 seed in the 2011 MW Women's Soccer Championship, scheduled for Nov. 2-6 in Albuquerque, N.M.
The second match on Wednesday will feature No. 4 seed UNLV vs. No. 5 seed Boise State at 4 p.m. CT. No. 1 seed New Mexico and No. 2 seed San Diego State will have first-round byes and will play in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 4. The Aztecs will play the winner of the No. 3 Wyoming/No. 6 TCU contest at 1 p.m. CT, while the Lobos will face the winner of the No. 4 UNLV/No. 5 Boise State contest at 4 p.m. CT.
The Mountain West Women's Soccer Championship title match is slated for 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 6, with the winner earning an automatic bid into the 2011 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.
Both of Wednesday's quarterfinals matchups will be streamed live on TheMWC.com at noon MT 3 p.m. MT, respectively. The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network will broadcast Friday's semifinals live at noon and 3 p.m. MT. The championship match will air live on The Mtn. at noon MT on Sunday, Nov. 6. The tandem of Jim Watson and Mark Rogondino will call the matches on Nov. 4 and 6.
