Jordan Raines had a monster match with 15 kills, one ace and nine digs. Sunstrum added nine kills and 10 digs to her stat line. Yvonne Igodan pitched in with seven kills and two blocks. Stephanie Holland led the Frogs with three blocks to go along with four kills. Megan Munce dished out 18 assists and Meghan Horio totaled 15 in addition to her nine digs.
The Falcons jumped out to an early 5-2 lead before the Frogs finally hit their stride. A kill by Raines put the ball back in the Frogs hands and Munce served TCU to a 9-6 lead. Igodan knocked down a pair of kills as did Raines during the comeback.
With the Frogs holding a 15-9 lead, Sunstrum took over the set. She blasted a kill then stepped behind the service line where she pushed the lead to 23-10. Raines gave the Frogs set point and Igodan locked up the 25-11 set one victory.
The second set was close early before the Frogs finally pulled away. Holding a 9-6 advantage, Sunstrum got things rolling with one of her three kills in the set. Horio continued TCU's run of solid serving as she helped the Frogs to a 14-7 lead. Sunstrum and Kristen Hester were key to the run with kills.
The lead grew as Raines and Igodan continued to slam down kills and a service ace by Fleming Smurthwaite gave TCU a commanding 20-9 lead. A kill by Raines gave the Frogs set point at 24-11 and Hester took care of an overpass to lock up the 25-11 win.
Tied at four in the third set a kill on an overpass by Igodan put the Frogs in front to stay. Joeckel served up an ace to make it an 11-6 gave and a kill by Emily Kirby forced a Falcon timeout with the Frogs in control at 13-7.
The break didn't quell the Frogs' momentum as Horio rattled off five straight points on her serve, aided by kills from Hester and Raines. Maddy Brown joined the front line and blasted one of her two kills to make it 20-9. A solo denial on the outside by Holland locked up the match victory as the Frogs won set three, 25-11.
TCU (19-4, 6-3) wraps up a three-match homestand Saturday afternoon when it hosts Boise State. First serve is slated for 1 p.m. at the University Rec Center.
