WINDMERE, Fla.—The TCU men's golf team continued play at the annual Isleworth Collegiate Invitational Monday with the second of the tournament's three rounds at Isleworth Country Club. The Horned Frogs sit in 13th place among a challenging 15-team fieldentering the final round.
TCU, rated 31st according to the latest release of the Golfweek/Sagarin national collegiate team rankings, is one of 11 squads in the tournament ranked among the nation's top-38 teams.
The Frogs combined to record an 18-over-par score of 306 Monday, pushing their two-day total to +33. Texas owns a 10-stroke edge on the field with an overall score of -2. TCU trails 12th-place Texas Tech (+30) by three strokes, while 11th-place Augusta State (+28), 10th-place Oklahoma State (+26) and ninth-place Florida (+24) each are within striking distance of the Frogs.
Freshman Julien Brun continues to pace TCU on the individual leaderboard in a tie for 18th place. Brun shot a 3-over-par 75 Monday to push his overall score to +4, while junior teammateDaniel Jennevret had the best day among all Frogs with a 1-over 73 to climbinto a tie for 23rd place at +5.
Senior Johan de Beer will enter the final round in a tie for 45th place following a Monday 77 that pushed his overall total to +9, while freshman Thomas Mantovanini, playing in his first varsity tournament, is 67th (+17) after shooting an 81 in Round 2. Junior Pontus Gad, who experienced a rough Monday, finds himself at +22 for the week.
Competition at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational concludes Tuesday with the tournament's final 18 holes.
