Jones and Carter Named TCU Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH - For their efforts over the past week, the TCU Athletics Department has named football's Colin Jones and basketball's Emily Carter as its Athletes of the Week.
Both led their teams to victories last weekend, with Jones helping No. 3 TCU to a 21-19 win over fifth-ranked Wisconsin the 97th Rose Bowl Game presented by Vizio. Carter was an integral part of the TCU women's basketball team's 76-69 downing on No. 14 Oklahoma.
Jones tied for the Horned Frog lead in tackles with 10. In addition, he racked up a game-high eight solo tackles.
The senior from Bridgeport, Texas, recorded one of TCU's two sacks on the afternoon and was also credited with two pass break-ups.
Carter poured in a game-high 26 points in TCU's upset-victory over Oklahoma on Sunday. The Bossier City, La., native also grabbed eight rebounds. Carter scored six-straight points down the stretch to seal the win for the Frogs.
The senior scored her 26 on 9-of-20 from the field, including knocking down TCU's only two three-pointers of the game. At the free-throw line, Carter was 6-of-6.
