
No. 5 TCU Back In Action Against Delaware State

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 5 TCU equestrian program will open its spring season this Sunday at home against Delaware State.
Start time for the game against the Hornets, who are receiving votes in the national rankings, is set for 8:30 a.m. from October Hill Farm in Hudson Oaks, Texas.
"We are really looking forward to DSU coming in," said head coach Gary Reynolds. We have been off for a long time and did not have very many games this fall. Delaware State is a scrappy team and we will not take them lightly. Our girls need to bear down, focus and execute."

Scouting Delaware State
Delaware State comes into this weekend with a 3-5 overall record. The Hornets have defeated New Mexico State, Sacred Heart and Miami (Ohio). In its last outing, DSU fell to nationally ranked Oklahoma State, 14-3.
Against the Cowgirls, Elizabeth Frayser Tuttle, Caroline Foltz and Kayla Blair all recorded victories, respectively, in Equitation on the Flat. Tuttle earned MVP accolades as well in leading the Hornets to a 3-2 decision in the event area.
Shelby Bonneville also had a solid day for DSU, winning both Horsemanship and Reining.
Scouting TCU
The Horned Frogs, who have won four-straight regular season matches dating back to last spring, are 3-0 heading into Sunday's competition against Delaware State. TCU is ranked No. 5 in the national rankings and has recorded victories over SMU, who is receiving votes in the national poll, Tennessee-Martin and No. 2 Auburn during the early portion of its schedule.
In their last outing, the Frogs upended then No. 3 Auburn, 11-7. Callie Selchau and Lexie Estrada both collected MVP honors.
The Horned Frogs were dominant on the Western side at October Hill Farm, winning 8-1. TCU outscored the Tigers overall in Western, 749.5-712. For the match, the Frogs outscored Auburn, 1528.5-1507.
Individually, Kelsey Huffman, who has one MVP on the year, has opened her senior campaign in fine fashion, going 2-0 in both Horsemanship and Reining, respectively. Ashley Aikman, a senior from Mission, is currently 2-0 this season with one MVP in Horsemanship.
On the Hunt Seat side, senior Tassie Munroe has shined during the early portion of the 2010-11 schedule, recording a combined record of 3-1. Senior Jessica Hagen has also had a solid start to the 2010-11 season, going 2-1 in Equitation on the Flat. In Equitation over Fences, Haley Jacobi is currently 2-1, while Taylor Frederick, Munroe and Lauren Quiroz have all remained unbeaten through three games.
All-Time Series Breakdown
The Horned Frogs and Hornets will battle for the fourth time in program history Sunday. TCU has never lost to DSU and leads the all-time series, 3-0.
Last season, TCU dominated Delaware State en route to an 11-5 decision. In the game, the Frogs outscored the Hornets, 1,155-1,138.5. Jessica Hagen and Ashley Aikman both collected MVP honors, respectively.
A Closer Look At The Game Against The Hornets
When TCU takes on Delaware State Sunday, the Horned Frogs will not only be looking for their fourth-straight win over the Hornets, but also their second-straight home victory over DSU. On Jan. 30, 2009, the Frogs dismantled Delaware State, 15-2, in Mansfield.
Texas Sized Showdown
TCU will take on Baylor next Friday night at the Fort Worth Stock Show. The competition against the Bears will consist of only five western riders from each team and be scored in a dual format. Competition is slated to begin at 6 p.m. inside the Will Rogers Coliseum.
In what is the second year of competition at the Fort Worth Stock Show, TCU scored a 5-3 victory over defending National Champion and nationally ranked Texas A&M at the 2010 edition of the Fort Worth Stock Show Dual.
Frogs Stay Put In National Polls
The TCU equestrian program stayed put this week in the top 10 of the Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll, coming into Sunday's match at No. 5, which is the highest regular-season ranking in program history.
This weekend's opponent, Delaware State is currently receiving votes in the poll. This season, TCU has defeated No. 2 Auburn, SMU and Tennessee-Martin. Both the Mustangs and Skyhawks are receiving votes. The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Feb. 1, 2011.

Last Time Out
Callie Selchau and Lexie Estrada both collected MVP honors as No. 6 TCU upended No. 3 Auburn, 11-7.
In Horsemanship, all five riders tallied a point for the Frogs. Estrada downed Mary Casey, 79.5-72, to collect MVP accolades. Ashley Aikman topped Kristin Hansen, 79-76, while Courtney Chown upended Stephanie Rucci, 77.5-75. Lyndsi Hardin scored a 73.5-72 victory over Chelsea Zillner and Kelsey Huffman rounded out the Frogs' dominance with a 78-77 win over Bailey Dymond.
Huffman recorded MVP honors in Reining after defeating Rucci, 75-64. Also scoring for the Horned Frogs were Devin Spencer and Carrie Schimpff, while Kolby Simonson rode to a draw against Jillian Fuller, 74-74.
The Tigers claimed a 3-1 victory over TCU in Equitation over Fences. Taylor Frederick was the lone Frog to score a point in the event, topping Coryn Bergenty, 81-78.
In Equitation on the Flat, Auburn took a 3-2 decision. Scoring for the Horned Frogs were Jessica Hagen and Haley Jacobi, respectively.
