FORT WORTH - TCU women's tennis coach Dave Borelli announced today the addition of Roland Ingram to his coaching staff.
"I'm excited to have Roland join the coaching staff," Borelli said. "He's a wonderful person and role model with a load of experience and knowledge of the game of tennis who will help us out tremendously. He's been a great mentor to me in my time here."
Ingram will serve as the volunteer assistant for the women's program for the 2010-11 season and brings with him a lengthy tennis resume.
The legendary coach was the head coach of the Horned Frog women for 19 years, amassing a 323-158 record over that span. He is by far the longest-tenured coach in program history and was the first full-time head coach when he took the job in 1984.
Along the way, he took the Frogs to six NCAA tournaments, won four conference titles and was named conference coach of the year on five occasions.
His squads finished the season ranked among the top 25 six times. In his last three years before turning the program over to Borelli in 2002, Ingram's teams racked up a 43-14 record, won the conference championship each year and twice went to the NCAA tournament second round.
