
Kerley Receives Multiple Honors After SMU Game

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU All-America return specialist Jeremy Kerley has been named the Mountain West Conference Special Teams Player of the Week as well as receiving recognition from the Paul Hornung Award for his performance in Friday's 41-24 win at SMU.
For the third time in the opening four games, Kerley has been recognized by the Hornung Award for one of the "Most Versatile Performances of the Week."
Kerley set a career high with 234 all-purpose yards at SMU. He had 172 yards on kickoff returns, 23 on punt returns, 33 yards receiving and six yards rushing. He also added an 11-yard third-quarter pass completion to Bart Johnson.
After SMU took a 17-14 lead early in the second half, Kerley returned the ensuing kickoff a career-long 83 yards. TCU scored three plays later to take the lead for good.
Kerley has career-high averages of 27.0 yards on kickoff returns and 16.0 yards on punt returns this season. He has a team-best 17 receptions and has tied a career-high with six catches in three of the last five games.
TCU is 13-0 in games when Kerley scores a touchdown.
