De La Garza Honored By Mountain West Conference

FORT WORTH, Texas - Sophomore Alex De La Garza was honored on Tuesday as the Mountain West Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
De La Garza made his first outing in a TCU uniform a memorable one this past Saturday, winning the men's four-mile race at the UTA Season Opener with a time of 20:16.93. The Mercedes native helped the No. 11 regionally ranked Horned Frogs earn runner-up accolades with 62 points.
TCU will have a week off before traveling to Stillwater, Okla., for the Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday, Sept. 25.
