FORT WORTH, Texas - With the start of the 2010 cross country season only a few weeks away, GoFrogs.com takes a look at two student-athletes who figure to have an immediate impact on the Horned Frogs this fall.
2010 Cross Country Season Breakdown
Agnes Kemboi
Coming off a 2009 season in which she finished in the top 20 at the Mountain West Conference Cross Country Championships, sophomore Agnes Kemboi is poised to not only make some noise on the conference level this fall, but also nationally. Overall, Kemboi, who led TCU in every meet she competed at in 2009, crossed the finish line in 16th-place at the MWC Championships. By placing in the top 20, the Kenya native earned the highest finish on the women's side since 2006 at the conference championships.
Tricia Terry
Fellow sophomore Tricia Terry opened the 2009 cross country season placing third and seventh overall, respectively. Following her seventh-place showing at the Ken Garland Invitational, Terry was then sidelined with an injury which caused her to miss the remainder of the cross country season. The former All-South National Regional Team selection at McAllen Memorial High School returns this fall and should give TCU a legitimate chance to finish in the top 3 in the final team standings at the 2010 Mountain West Conference Cross Country Championships.
TCU opens the 2010 cross country season on Sept. 3 at the Bear Invitational in Waco.
