
TCU Soccer Set For Bearkats On Sunday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's soccer program will close the month of August with a home match against Sam Houston State on Sunday.The Horned Frogs and Bearkats will battle at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.

Scouting Sam Houston State
Sam Houston State, who is 0-3-0 on the season, enters Sunday's match coming off a 2-1 setback to Louisiana Tech. The Bearkats were led in the match by Tricia Mallory, who posted the lone goal against the Bulldogs.
Sam Houston State returns eight of 11 starters this fall from a squad that went 9-10-1 during the 2009 season. The Bearkats were recently picked to finish fourth overall in the Southland Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
Scouting TCU
TCU, who is 1-2-0 entering Sunday's contest, continued its season Friday night against USC at home. The Frogs had several chances to find the back of the net, but dropped a hard fought 1-0 decision to No. 26 USC in front of 2,318 spectators at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
In a physical back and fourth match in front of the second largest crowd in stadium history, TCU missed on several scoring opportunities throughout the game. Jordan Calhoun and Kim Castleberry led the Frog offensive attack with three shots apiece, respectively.
All-Time Series
On Sunday, SHS will make only its third trip to Fort Worth in school history. The Frogs lead the all-time series 2-0-0, but haven't faced Sam Houston State since the 2006 season.
