FORT WORTH, Texas -- The GoFrogs.com preview of the 2010 TCU football team continues with a look at the cornerback position.
Even though four-year starters Rafael Priest and Nick Sanders have left TCU with degrees in hand, the cornerback position is still in good hands with experienced players in Greg McCoy (5-10, 181, Jr.) and Jason Teague (6-2, 197, Sr.).
McCoy and Teague both had two interceptions last season and made starts when Priest and Sanders were injured.
McCoy is among the fastest Horned Frogs on the roster. He made an impact in both his starts a year ago. In the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, McCoy totaled a career-high seven tackles. His first collegiate start saw him record an interception at San Diego State.
McCoy also left his mark on special teams. He returned a kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown at Wyoming. His 35.9 average on kickoff returns set a TCU single-season record.
Teague started two games in place of Sanders. An original signee of LSU, Teague has outstanding size at the corner position. He equaled a season high with four tackles to go with a pass breakup in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
Malcolm Williams (5-10, 200, Sr.), a four-star recruit as a junior college transfer last season, moved from safety to cornerback in the spring. He totaled 10 tackles in 2009.
Travaras Battle (5-10, 175, Fr.) is an early enrollee who will look to impress at cornerback.
Kevin White (5-10, 170, Fr.) is another true freshman in the mix for playing time.
