
Rifle Invited To The White House

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU's NCAA Champion rifle squad has been invited to the White House where President Barack Obama will honor all National Champions from the 2009-10 season. The celebration will take place at the White House on Monday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m.
The Horned Frogs took home the university's first team championship since 1983 with a dominating performance back in March. Sarah Scherer claimed the individual smallbore title, while the Frogs erased a six-point deficit on day two of the competition to take home the team trophy. The solid performance on day two gave earned the Frogs the Air Rifle National Championship. TCU is the first all-female squad to take home the Rifle National Championship.
Scherer, Erin Lorenzen, Simone Riford, Sarah Beard and Caitlin Morrissey were all instrumental in the Frogs' victory. Lorenzen took home Most Outstanding Performer honors after the meet, while all five earned All-American honors for their efforts at the range.
