Dungey Closes Competition At 2010 USA Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa - Junior Mychal Dungey clocked the seventh fastest semifinal time on Sunday in the men's 200 meters at the 2010 USA Track & Field Championships.Dungey, who just missed qualifying for the finals at Drake Stadium, crossed the finish line in 20.82 seconds to finish fourth in semifinal heat No. 2 and ninth overall in the men's 200 meters.
Overall, TCU had a successful week in Den Moines as freshman Charles Silmon made the USA Junior National Team in the men's 100 meters, while Larissa Matthews and Kelsey Samuels were named alternates in their respective events to the national squad.
Senior Neidra Covington put a close to her TCU career in Des Moines, soaring to sixth-place accolades in the women's triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 2 inches. Her leap tied her own school record, which she set earlier this year at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships.
