FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU baseball head coach Jim Schlossnagle will host six camps during the summer at Lupton Stadium and Williams-Reilly Field.
There will be three All-Star Day Camps that are open to ages 6-14. They will run June 14-18, June 21-25 and July 12-16. The full day camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A half-day camp is also an option and runs from 9-12:30 p.m. This week-long camp is an excellent opportunity for players to develop their skills in all areas of the game. The camp staff will emphasize hitting, fielding, base running and throwing fundamentals through drills, proper practice techniques, game situations, and video evaluation. Full day campers will have the opportunity to showcase their skills during games each day. Campers are divided by age and ability for games and drills.
TCU will host a hitting camp June 28-29 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. for ages 12-18. This two-day specialty camp is designed for players that are interested in improving their hitting skills in a concentrated, skill-specific environment. Each camper will receive small group instruction over the two-day camp.
A pitcher/catcher camp will also be held on June 28-29 from 9-12:30 p.m. for ages 6-18. This two-day specialty camp is designed for players that are interested in improving their pitching or catching skills in a concentrated, skill-specific environment. College coaches and professional scouts will provide campers with expert instruction and evaluation. Campers will be coached through drills on the field and in live bullpens. Each camper will receive small group instruction over the two-day camp.
TCU's final camp of the summer will be the Summer Prospect Showcase for all high school players. It will be held August 6-8. The camp will run from 6-9 p.m. on August 6 and 9-4 p.m. August 7-8. The Summer Prospect Showcase is the perfect setting to display your skills and your game to college coaches and professional scouts. Created specifically for high school players, campers will be given the opportunity to showcase their abilities in a pro style workout, in game situations for the camp staff, and attend a seminar on the recruiting process and NCAA rules. Camp personnel will include the TCU baseball staff along with other college coaches and professional scouts. This camp is designed for the player who is serious about taking their game to the next level and who desires "exposure" to college and professional.
Camp staff will include Coach Schlossnagle, the TCU coaching staff, current players, as well as some of the finest high school coaches, college coaches, and professional scouts in the nation. Staff from previous camps has included scouts from the Red Sox, A's, Brewers, Cubs, Dodgers, Pirates, and Royals.
