
TCU Players Climb in National Rankings

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's tennis team has two singles players and a doubles team listed in the latest Campbell's/ITA Women's National rankings. The listing names the best 125 singles players and 80 doubles teams in the country.
Senior Nina Munch-Soegaard is the top-ranked singles player for the Horned Frogs, earning her spring-best ranking of No. 63 ranking. The Amarillo, Texas native jumped 26 spots in two weeks after picking up a pair of wins over the top players from Virginia Commonwealth and Wichita State. Munch-Soegaard has played from the top position all season, taking on some of the top players in the country through the Frogs first 14 matches. The team captain has picked it up as of late, winning five of her last nine matches.
Sophomore Kayla Duncan follows in the singles rankings for TCU, settling in at No. 90. The Winston-Salem, N.C., native has played from the No. 2 position all season for TCU, recording a 5-8 record this spring. She has earned ranked wins over No. 27 Krista Damico from Texas and No. 94 Rachael White of Illinois.
In doubles action, the team of Duncan and junior Katariina Tuohimaa moved up to the No. 40 spot in the ranking, jumping 18 spots with a pair of wins in the last two weeks. The pairing is 4-3 this spring, and recently defeated the No. 22 team from Wichita State.
The Frogs (2-12) return to the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center this weekend to open up the Mountain West Conference schedule against Air Force, Wyoming and Colorado State.
