
Frogs Travel to Challenge No. 18 Miami Monday

MIAMI, Fla. - The No. 72 TCU women's tennis team travels to take on No. 18 Miami Monday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. First serve is set to go up at 1 p.m. CST.
TCU junior Katariina Tuohimaa, who is ranked No. 86 nationally, continues to pace the squad with a 6-4 overall record. Senior Nina Munch-Soegaard was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week Friday for her efforts against Texas A&M and Illinois last week, going 1-1 in singles and 2-0 in doubles alongside partner Maria Babanova.
Miami (7-3) enters the match riding a four-match win streak, after defeating FIU, 7-0, last Tuesday in Miami. The Hurricanes are 5-1 at home this year, with their lone loss being a 4-3 setback at the hands of No. 5 Baylor on Feb. 6. The Hurricanes are led by No. 4 Laura Vallverdu, a three-time All-American, No. 40 Bianca Eichkorn and No. 55 Anna Bartenstein. In doubles action, the 'Canes tandem of Vallverdu and Gabriela Mejia are one of the best duos in the country owning a national ranking of No. 5.
The Frogs is 1-3 all-time against Miami, including a 6-1 loss to the Hurricanes in Fort Worth last season. Monday's match is the first meeting between the two programs at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
TCU will return home to host Virginia Commonwealth at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
