FORT WORTH - The TCU Athletics Department has tabbed football's Josh Boyce and swimmer Sabine Rasch as its Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 8.
Boyce, a redshirt freshman, hauled in two touchdowns in No. 3 TCU's 47-7 triumph over then-No. 5 Utah last Saturday in Salt Lake City. His finished game with three catches for 126 yards.
The Copperas, Cove, Texas, native started TCU's scoring onslaught when he made a 26-yard grab on a pass from Andy Dalton to give the Horned Frogs a 7-0 lead. The catch capped a 9-play, 80-yard drive on the first possession of the game.
Boyce put his name in the TCU record books on his second touchdown. His 93-yard catch and run for a score is the third-longest play in Frog history.
For the women's side, Rasch grabbed two spots on TCU's all-time performance list over the weekend in a dual against Mountain West Conference-leading San Diego State.
The Luckenwalde, Germany, native set a school record in the 100-freestyle with a 50.75. She finished nearly six-tenths of a second ahead of the second-place finisher. In the 50-freestyle, Rasch touched the wall in 23.36 for the event win and the fourth-fastest time in TCU history.
Both of her times lead the MWC for this season. Rasch also swam the opening leg of TCU's winning time of 3:29.44 in the 400-freestyle relay.
