
Dalton And Brock Receive MWC Weekly Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- TCU quarterback Andy Dalton and linebacker Tanner Brock have been named Mountain West Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for their efforts in Saturday's 47-7 win at Utah.
For Dalton, a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien Award and Maxwell Award, it's the third time this season and sixth time in his career that he's received the MWC weekly accolade.
Dalton has also been named the Walter Camp Football Foundation and Rivals.com National Offensive Player of the Week.
The nation's winningest active quarterback with 39 victories, Dalton completed 21-of-26 passes for a career-high 355 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Dalton's 80.8 completion percentage at Utah tied for the sixth-best single-game mark in TCU history. He extended his Mountain West Conference record to 18 consecutive games with a scoring pass when he hit Josh Boyce with a 26-yard strike to cap a 9-play, 80-yard drive on the game's opening series.
Later in the first quarter, Dalton and Boyce connected on a 93-yard touchdown pass for the third-longest play in TCU history.
Brock totaled a career-high and team-best 12 tackles to reach double figures in stops for the third time in the last six contests.
An SI.com Midseason All-American, Brock recorded his first career interception on the third play of the second half. He returned the pick 57 yards to set up a TCU touchdown on the next play. He also added a pass breakup.
A sophomore from Copperas Cove, Texas, Brock has a team-high 77 tackles, 19 more than the next-closest Horned Frog (Colin Jones, 58).
