
Rifle Inks Two To NLIs

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU head rifle coach Karen Monez announced the signing of Claudia Duksa and Morgan Lluy to National Letters of Intent. The duo will join the squad in the fall of 2011 and will be freshmen.
"I am looking forward to having both Claudia and Morgan join the team next fall," said Monez. "Both should really gain valuable experience from their first collegiate season and I think we will see some solid performances from them as they develop their competitive marksmanship skills."
A native of Bristol, Conn., Duksa is a member of the Bell City Rifle Club. She is a two-time (2005, 2006) Sub-Junior National Match champion as well as an Intermediate three-position smallbore rifle shooting champion in 2008. Since 2004, the talented shooter has been a part of the Connecticut All-State rifle team. She has competed internationally as well, competing in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
As well as achieving at the shooting range, Duksa has excelled in the classroom. She has been a member of the honor roll every semester and earned Principal's Commendation for the 2008-09 school year.
Lluy comes to TCU from Fairfax, Va. where she has been a four-year star at W.T. Woodson High School. She has been an instrumental part of a Woodson program that has won three straight state titles. Lluy, a team captain, was named MVP of her squad in 2009 and 2010 and was the state champion in air rifle and smallbore in 2009.
Additionally, Lluy competes as a member of the Arlington Optimist Acorns Junior Rifle Club. Her squad was the 2010 National Junior Olympic champions in three-position air rifle and is a three-time NRA National Champions in smallbore. She holds three NRA records in smallbore as well as holding similar records at her high school.
