
Hudson and Irene Hester Tabbed All-MWC

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU volleyball seniors Christy Hudson and Irene Hester were named All-Mountain West Conference.
For Hudson, it marks the third straight season that she has been honored by the conference. Hester earns her first all-conference accolade. Only one other Horned Frog in school history has earned three all-conference nods. Dominika Szabo was honored three times by Conference USA, earning third-team honors in 2002 and 2003 and first-team accolades in 2004.
Hudson had a solid senior campaign, ranking second on the squad with an average of 2.58 kills per set. Her attacking percentage of 3.06 ranked eighth in the league this season. Additionally, the senior averaged 2.76 digs per set and 0.48 blocks per set. Twice this season Hudson tallied a triple-double, becoming the only Horned Frog in school history to accomplish that feat. She also notched nine double-doubles.
In league play, Hudson was one of the key contributors with an average of 2.52 kills per set, 2.68 assists per set, 2.67 digs per set and 0.52 blocks per set. Her attacking percentage in conference play rose to .321, a mark that ranked seventh among league players.
Hester dominated the statistical categories in the league this season, leading the pack in kills per set with 3.77 and points per set with 4.37, while ranking second in aces per set with 0.38. She totaled 403 kills on the year, the only player in the league to have over 400 kills. The senior also racked up 307 digs for an average of 2.87 per set. Hester posted 13 double-doubles and tallied one triple-double on the season.
In league play, the senior put up similar numbers. She paced the conference with 3.84 kills and ranked second with 4.32 points per set. Additionally, she pitched in with 2.51 digs per set.
Since joining the league in 2005, the Horned Frogs have had nine all-conference selections.
