FORT WORTH - Football's Jake Kirkpatrick and soccer's Jordan Calhoun have been named the TCU Scholar-Athletes of the Month for the month of October.
Kirkpatrick, a management senior, anchored a TCU offensive line that allowed only two sacks in the month. The center from Tyler, Texas, helped the Horned Frogs average 506.6 yards of total offense per game.
Additionally, the TCU rushing attack averaged 281.8 yards per game, while Kirkpatrick and Co. paved the way for TCU's backs to average 6.0 yards per carry on the ground.
On the women's side, Calhoun became the school's all-time leader in goals scored on Oct. 8 when she found the back of the net in the third minute during TCU's 3-1 win over UNLV.
Calhoun, a communications junior, added another goal later in the contest against UNLV to bring her TCU career total to 29. For her effort, she was named Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week during that week.
